Congratulations to Mr. Charles Barker,
The 2011 First Citizen of Virginia Beach!
The Virginia Beach Jaycees annually award an individual as The First Citizen of Virginia Beach. This time honored tradition, which started in 1950, is presented to an outstanding individual who best embodies the Jaycee Creed. Recipients exemplify the spirit of citizenship and leadership through their time, talents and efforts towards the better of Virginia Beach. Money raised by the First Citizen Dinner will be utilized in sending handicapped children to Camp Jaycees, taking children from low income homes shopping for their families at Christmas and various other community service projects.
The event will be on May 23, 2012 at The Westin Hotel in Virginia Beach Towncenter.

We Believe:
That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life:
That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations;
That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;
That government should be of laws rather than of men;
That earth’s great treasure lies in human personality;
And that service to humanity is the BEST WORK OF LIFE.
