Special Olympics is a year-round international program of sports training and athletic competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

Returning Hope Silent Auction Going on NOW & Fundraiser Dinner will be held Saturday January 7, 2012 @ 7PM @ Dogwood’s Southern Bistro in Virginia Beach
Silent Auction – hosted by a community coming together so we can return hope to families affected by adversity. All proceeds will be shared by the Phillips family to misplaced families and local non-profit organizations.
Auction Item folder will go live on Monday January 2, 2012 @ 8AM and bidding will be allowed until Friday January 6, 2012 @ Midnight.

Now Accepting Nominations for the 2011 VA Beach First Citizen
The Virginia Beach Jaycees will start accepting nominations for the 2011 Virginia Beach First Citizen on December 1, 2011.
This time honored tradition which started in 1950 is presented to an outstanding individual who best embodies the Jaycee Creed. Recipients exemplify the spirit of citizenship and leadership through their time, talents and efforts towards the better of Virginia Beach.
