A: The Virginia Beach Jaycees is an organization of young professionals ages 21-40 that provide a wide range of activities. Members can participate in community service, business networking, leadership development, and social events.
Q: How do I become a member of the Virginia Beach Jaycee?
A: The cost for a 1-year membership is $85 and renewals for members are only $70. Click Here to register and pay online to have your Virginia Beach Jaycees membership immediately activated. You may also request a paper application at any of our upcoming events or meetings.
Q: What are the Benefits of becoming a member?
A: Other than all of the great discounts and deals listed on our Join/Renew page, your membership will allow you access to all the Virginia Beach Jaycees sponsored events and meetings. You will grow as an individual and as a professional by attending and running various events.
Q: What type of events do the Virginia Beach Jaycees host?
A: Other than the Monthly Socials, and Monthly Membership Meeting, the Virginia Beach Jaycees host a number of different events. These events involve Community Development & Volunteering, Individual Development, and Buisness Relations. Our annual events include the East Coast Surfing Championship, Camp Virginia Jaycee, Christmas Shopping Tour, First Citizen and Flame of Hope Memorial.
Q: Are there other chapters of the Junior Chamber of Commerce?
A: Yes, there are over 40 chapters in the state of Virginia and over 2,000 in the United States. For further information check out the Virginia Jaycees and the U.S. Jaycees.
Q: Who are some well-known Jaycees?
A: Senator Paul Coverdale, Ted Turner, Former Secretary of State, Colin Powell, Former President Gerald Ford, Larry Bird, Charles Lindbergh, and Former President Clinton.
Q: Is attendance mandatory at any of the Virginia Beach Jaycees events?
A: NO. You may attend as many or as few events as you wish. Just know that the more you participate, the more benefit you will receive from becoming a member. There are many opportunities available that suit a wide variety of needs: Social Networking, Business Networking, Leadership Development, Community Involvement, Individual Development, and International Exposure. We encourage all members to be involved in at least one event of each type.
Q: Can I put my Jaycees activities on my resume?
A: Yes. The Jaycees are a well-known, respected national organization with over 2,000 chapters across the United States.. ANY management position you take or project you run can be listed on your resume and members of the board can provide you with references. This is a GREAT way to expand your skill sets, experience, and contacts as well as be recognized as a leader and active member of your community by employers.
