2011 Christmas Shopping Tour with Project Link
Saturday, December 3 · 7:30am – 1:00pm
Location: Target
2060 S Independence Blvd
Virginia Beach, VA
It is that time of year again for the Jaycees Christmas Shopping Tour. Every year, the Jaycees partner with Project Link, a city organization that works with families affected by substance abuse. We take children from that group shopping for their families. Each child will receive a set amount to purchase gifts and we need volunteers to help them do their shopping.
After the shopping portion is done, we then go to CiCi’s Pizza where we help the kids wrap their gifts and then Santa shows up with gifts for the kids themselves as a reward for thinking of others instead of themselves.
Everything is paid for by the Jaycees, we just need volunteers to help out. Bring a pair of scissors (especially kid scissors) if you can.
Feel free to share this with friends and family. Everyone is welcome, and it is a lot of fun.
For those of you who consider yourselves “professional shoppers”; what better opportunity to show off your skills by helping these kids get the most out of the money allotted to them (about $75 each).. Also, ace gift wrappers are always a welcome addition to this event. We will need between 35-40 Volunteers this year. Hope you can help out!!
